My 3 year old son can't blow his nose.

Does anyone have any great ideas on how to teach him? My eight year old son can't do it, either, I have tried but I guess I am not a good teacher for nose blowing. HELP!

  • When he's healthy, have him try to blow little scraps of tissue paper across the table by breathing out through his nose hard. It lets him feel what to do and see the results.

  • I can't help, but I'll be watching this one. My 10 y/o son can't blow, but my 5 y/o daughter can. Go figure!

  • can you show him how to breathe out of his nose. then tell him to breathe out alittle harder. my 6yr.old nephew can't do it either. but that's how i got my kids to do it.

  • Don't laugh, I didn't blow my nose until I was like 13. i always just wiped what was running out with a tissue. I think Kaycee14 has a great idea!

  • I taught mine how to do this in the bathtub. When they would get water on or in their noses I would tell them to blow it out. ( I would demonstrate this). Once they understood that feeling of blowing out , they got the whole blowing their nose thing. Both my boys blew their noses at around 3 years of age. I know how helpful it is. Good Luck
