Advice on getting 1 year old back to sleep.

Our youngest is 15 months old and used to be a great sleeper. Since he started sleeping through the night I've only had to just put him in his crib, turn on the music and give him a bottle of water. Now he refuses to cooperate with us! As soon as he knows we're leaving him in the crib he kicks and screams, and as soon as we give him the water bottle we have to duck because he's going to throw it at our heads! The worse part is he now wants to get up and start his day at 4 am, and that's just not going to happen. We can't go in and comfort him because he will throw a major fit and wake up the entire house. Any advice? I'm at a complete loss.

  • I am all about sleep training. If the rest of the house will be awake for a night or two to sleep train your toddler then that is how it is going to be otherwise you are going to lose your mind. Mamas need sleep too. Putting your son to bed then leaving, going back 10 min then 20 min and so forth. He is plenty old to put himself to sleep

  • Agreed. That's how we've always done it, but now that he's older it just makes him angry and he doesn't go back to sleep. It's just a sucky situation.
