  • I don't think it matters how long they last but how many minutes are in between the contractions. I believe they can.

  • I think my record for a braxton hick contraction was one that lasted 45 minutes...yeah, those things can just get tighter and tighter, and refuse to let go until you can get some water and some rest.

  • YES. i was one of those unfortunate mothers whose contractions were 5 minutes apart but each lasting 2-3 minutes each. It was 19 hours for real labor .
