Why does anyone put any credit on Science?

Its always changing yet people always say yeah I agree lol You have one group that says this and "we have proof then a different group that says no your wrong we say this and have proof". Its just silly!

  • I am a physics degree it is just all who you talk to. Like everyone else in the world, everyone has did outlooks on life and so on, the same with science. It is just what you want to believe in.

  • Knowledge acquired through the scientific method is reliable because it is continually tested and retested — much of science is heavily interdependent, which means that any test of any scientific idea entails testing other, related ideas at the same time. The knowledge is not infallible, because at no point do scientists assume that they have arrived at a final, definitive truth.

  • Science is the search for truth. It's the best we can do.

  • It also depends on where you get your science from. Most of the popular media distorts and misrepresents it when they bother to report it all. But despite the media's obsession with celebrities the rich, murders, drugs and other transitory events make no mistake about it, science is what underlies our lives today and is of fundamental iimportance to us. You could not post your question without the succession of scientific discoveries and innovations going back over a century embodied in your computer. There is far less nonsense and much more credibility about science thasn there is about religion .

  • That's the great thing about science! It is a learning process that takes an analytical mind to figure out what theory best fits. It's perfectly acceptable to throw out a theory in place of a new, more trustworthy one.

And not all science is theoretical. There are plenty of laws that (most) everyone agrees on, like gravity and motion.

Without science, we'd have no cars, electricity, running water, medicine, computers, or all the other gizmos and gadgets that surround us.

  • I agree! It does always change. What was it a decade or two the healthiest option was formula feeding and now it's breastfeeding.

Or like Lobotomies. Yeah we're crazy. But you know what, I think Science is evolving. It's not always right, but at least it's trying to be!

  • Science will always evolve Science is the reason we have the technology to learn more everyday. And in 50 years we will learn even more as we advance. I think eventually it is religion that will disappear.
