Is Rust fixable?

My grandmother's wonderful mixer with which I make cookies and cakes all of the time and is MUCH better than my hand mixer- has a bit of rust (on the mixers actually) What can I do??

  • On a mixer, probably not,but on something you are not going to use to prepare food such as a garden gate or a wire crate yes. Sand the rust off wash with water & when dry paint it with Rustoleum.

  • yes, You can remover rust from your beaters. use navel Jelly and a brillo pad ( steel wool) scrub hard. Rinse and finish with a light coat of oil. Always dry the beaters before storing! If you need to , repeat the process.

  • Thanks for the bump. I'm gonna choose Darkfaery's answr as best because it is the only one I can try. I Liked chefjen's answer too but don't have navel jelly.
