When did your child get teeth?

My daughter is almost 1 year old and STILL has no teeth, and to me, has seemed to have been going through the teething phase since she was 3 months old. Always drooling, putting her hands and everything else in her mouth, crying, fevers, wont let me feel in her mouth, but yet, no teeth. So, when did your children get teeth?

  • My daughter got her first teeth about 5 months old and my son got his at about 4 months. From what I have heard though, the longer they don't get teeth, the better. I would talk to your doctor about it or maybe a dentist cause it does seem weird to me that she hasn't gotten any of them by now.

  • My first born didn't get teeth until around 12 months and when he did start getting them he cut two at a time. My second son was 7 1/2 months and daughter was around 8 months. I wouldn't be concerned. I've talked to other moms and some of them said their kids were 15 to 16 months before they got theirs. If your really concerned I would just ask your pedi at your next visit.

  • My DD got her first tooth at 3 months and my DS cut his first one just after he was 5 months. My friends LO didn't cut her first one until she was 15 months! Different babies do different things at different ages.

  • EVERY child is different - don't stress too much about the timing; if you're really freaked see a dentist
You can help her out by giving her something to bite on like leather; one of our friends actually gave her daughter beef jerky (???)
our little one seemed like she was teething for months - since she was 4 months old and finally at 10 months 1 tooth popped through on the bottom. I was so disappointed (lol) all those sleepless nights, wet bibs, fevers and crying fits for that tooth. now she's 11 1/2 months and her "fangs" or eye teeth came out before her front teeth - good timing though, she looks like a jack o'lantern!
