If you were going for an interview, is this appropriate?

If you were going to an interview at a call center where the dress code is business casual (you know from a teleconference you had with them), would dress pants, a plaid, wide sleeved tank top, a thin blazer and a pair of nicer looking flip flops be appropriate? My friend says that the flip flops aren't, but I'm not so sure because they're solid black, wedge heels with shiny straps. What's your opinion?

  • At our call center, there were no flip flops allowed, so I would say no. Shoes had to have a back on them.

  • Flipflops are never approriate for a job interview. Most of the time they are against the dress code in a business casual environment as are most open toed shoes at a lot of places....

  • Your outfit sounds great except for flip-flops. Flip-flops are NEVER appropriate in a work environment, I don't care how "dressy" they are.
Go for some black flats or heels.

  • Flip Flops are a no for any job interview

  • Flip flops are not appropriate for a job interview ( ANd not even for a dressy or casual social event. They work for when you are at home, slogging around, looking like an unmade bed. LOL.)
And I wouldn't advise anyone to wear a top that shows too much skin either.

  • Are sandals ever appropriate?

  • I would go with nice dress shoes. I don't think sandals are normally considered "business-appropriate."

  • No, no, no flip flops. The rest of your attire sounds fine. Go with a nice dress shoe appropriate with slacks.
