Has anyone ever rented a Rug Doctor?

Do they work? I can't afford an actual carpet cleaner machine so i was wondering about this. I have white carpet in my house and three small kids lol!! The carpet has seen better days...Thanks!

  • I thought it did a good job! It did kick it out the smell of urine, but my carpet didn't smell like urine afterwards. Hope this helps.

  • We swear by the rug doctor! Heavy, but works well. I spent a day last month cleaning the carpets, and once they dry, they look great!

  • Will it bring out stains?

  • They work pretty good. It's the chemicals that cost more than actually renting the machine. As far as stain removal goes, they do good except for removing Red #40 stains. Those are very hard to get out.

  • I have, and I think they work well but are very bulky and heavy. I did not buy the soap that they try to sell for it. I used liquid Tide and it made the carpet clean, bright and smelled wonderful!
