Do you pull off the road?

When you see a funeral passing? I did not know of this custom until I moved into the deep South. All cars pull off the road as the funeral goes by. I did it yesterday on an interstate highway. There was a fire truck hanging an American Flag off an overpass, just before the funeral procession went by. It was 1/2 veterans on Harly's and the rest were cars. It was seven miles long.

  • Yes, we sure do. I've from the south and its always been this way. Its shows respect for the dead. I think it's rude when people do not pull over for a funeral.

  • It is custom here to pull over. We also turn on headlights. Radios go off. I'm never in too big a hurry that I can't pay respect.

  • We slow down and stop but not necessarily pull off the road. Radios are turned off.

Here in the South, we are taught that it's a sign of respect for the family.
