Parents of kids with Type 1 Diabetes, please come in.

What were your child's first symptoms? What made you ask his/her doctor about it? What kinds of tests do they run on your child?

My son has been drinking, eating and peeing like crazy lately. He's lost a couple of lbs and I'm a little worried. Is it worth it to mention it to his doctor? I have to call tomorrow and get a Rx for a rescue inhaler anyway so should I mention this as well?

  • Anything that worries you is worth mentioning. But sorry I don't have any advice about the symptoms.

  • I would definitely mention it to your dr. My nephew was urinating every 20 mins, so his mom took him in, and he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. They ended up in the hospital for a few days to get his sugar regulated. Mention it to your dr, and see what he says. At least then you know if it's something to worry about or not. God Bless!
