Have you ever had an OB/Midwife do cord traction to "assist" in the expelling of your placenta? Did you know this was a risk of that?

  • No. That is horrifying. It took almost an hour for my placenta to come out and my midwife never touched a thing. She patiently waited for me to push it out.

  • No. My midwives have never used that method.

  • My midwife pulled out my placenta. I was laying in the tub for about 15 min after dd was born and nothing else was happening. So she just started slowing pulling it down and finally it came out.

  • Nope, my midwife did NOT do this and it came out quickly on its own! With this last labor, the baby and placenta were all delivered withing 10 mins :) My midwife was pretty pleased lol!
