How do you cook hog jowls? and with what?

  • we used to boil them and serve in baked beans with cornbread.

  • I would put them in the crock pot with lima beans and let them cook all day if you want them for supper all night if you want them for lunch and make some corn bread with honey.

  • I slice them and use them in any bean recipe that needs a good deep flavor. For a quick old fashioned southern snack, just slice and pan fry in lard just like bacon and serve on thick bread or biscuts with country gravy on the side.
