Costume sizes?

I always mess up when I buy costumes for my son and they end up being too small on him (he's very tall, but skinny). Like last year he was wearing 2T/3T, so I got him a 3T--too short (but was easily fixable fortunately), and the year before that same thing happened. Now he's in 4T mostly (but can still fit into 3T at times), so do I go for a 4T or 5T or jump straight to the child sizes?

He's 36 lbs and 40" tall. And I plan to let him pick so hopefully they'll have one in his size.

  • Maybe try the childs sizes. Costumes always run small, I used to work at a party supply store and every single brand we had ran small.
