Why do we call it "common sense" when it's just not that common now a days?

  • Because its everyday things that people SHOULD know (like don't stick your hand in fire because you'll get burned) but don't.

  • It used ti be common sense but somewhere between my age & the age if my 32 yr old dd it has gotten lost. Not that she don't have common sense I was just trying to point out that it got lost somewhere

  • My family and I all refer to it as 'uncommon' sense. It seems as is WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE are totally lacking common sense. I contribute it to overprotectiveness, sheltering and spoiling of our kids now a days , but hey, what do I know.
