How many letters are in your childs name? How many is too many?

For instance, if I name my baby girl

Mica Elizabeth Lorkledge (not our real last name, but has the same amount of letters.)

This name has 22 letters...is that too many? Is this name too long?

  • behindthename.com lists mica as a feminine name. They also have ratings (http://www.behindthename.com/rating/view.php?name=mica) and 75% rated it feminine; 25% rated it masculine.

I agree with most pps - the number of letters don''t matter as much as other things, like uniqueness of name, length of first name, and number of syllables.

Congratulations and good luck on your pregnancy!

  • My husband's first name has 11 letters. His name is Christopher. When ever his name needs to be entered into the computer his name winds up looking like either Christoph or Christophe. So I think 8 or 9 letters in a first name is enough. Other wise, I think the rest of the name is fine.

  • I think it's fine... she won't be spelling out her middle name often. It's only 13 letters for her first and last name.
My son's name has 17 letters in his name and only 11 in his first and last.
