What is a good way to get Aquaphor out of a child's hair? Shampoo didn't do it.

Aquaphor is like Vaseline. My toddler managed to get a lot of it in her hair, but it didn't wash out. Any ideas?

  • I would say Dawn or a clarifying shampoo.

  • You need to strip the oil out, so a little bit of dawn would work, I had to use some of my DH's hand cleaner for cars. My kid got into his grease gun and put that in his hair.

  • I agree with the above. If dawn can get the oil from the oil leak off of those little animals, Im sure it can get it out of your lo's hair. Good luck mama.

  • LOL oh my gosh sorry - too funny the things our kids get into- I think the previous poster about dawn may work but also (some) salons use a diluted Tide laundry liquid to strip grease- works well (we all are allergic to Tide) but it should be fine as long as that's not an allergy. Just make sure not to get it in eyes. GL momma!
