  • I agree with both statement

Answer by mamaofficer at 1:49 AM on Aug. 5, 2010

  • I disagree because faith gives us the how and the why, and science validates it.

  • I meant to say "I think" in front of faith and science

Answer by nicolemstacy at 1:51 AM on Aug. 5, 2010

  • No. Science is too easily manipulated. We see what we want to see, literally. Our brain will show us things that aren't there because it's trying to simplify the world. Science has been proven wrong too many times for me to believe it shows us the how. Plus, the how is different for everyone. We all have our own worlds that we are in charge of and it appears they all are the same world, but infact they are not. But that gets into philosophy and moves away from the question. Faith gives us the Why that we want to hear. I don't believe any one faith has utter truth to it, just bits and pieces that we are all still trying to figure out how to put together.

  • And history shows us how both are flawed.

Answer by LittleWeloosMom at 1:55 AM on Aug. 5, 2010

  • Sure...if you have faith it can give you the why. I am more concerned with the how and I can wait for the why answers. I am also fine with never finding the answer to why.

Answer by ashisamom at 9:59 AM on Aug. 5, 2010

  • Both are/can be easily manipulated to give the results that you want.

Faith is/can be manipulated by religion. Science is/can be manipulated by the desired result.

We see, hear and believe what we want and our minds shape our reality to match many of those perceptions.

  • I'll take science over faith anyday.
