Can my kid still get an ear infection if he has tubes in his ears?

My son is 2 yrs old and has had tubes for almost 1 yr. We have had no problems up to this point. He is having all of the symptons of an ear infection, but I thought they were not sussposed to get ear infections while they had the tubes??

  • My son had tubes as well, and from what the ENT Specialist told us, you can still get an ear infection if the tube placement is off a bit. Also, if you haven't had your son checked in a while, the tube in that ear may have fallen out, and that could be the cause.
You know your child, and if he is exhibiting the symptoms of an ear infection, call the pediatrician and get him checked out.
Good luck, and healing vibes to the little one!
