  • OMG that is great advice - it is so sad how people can get roped into a college program that does absolutely nothing for them once they "graduate." Stick with public colleges, especially if you are just starting your education. You can always transfer later.

  • Also, if you are crazy enough to go to one of those school...take notice that if you start there you have to finish there because none of the credits will transfer to any other education institution.

  • Most universities, and all community colleges are non-profits.

For profit schools are legally required to have making money for their owners/shareholders as their top priority; education is not a priority for them

  • Huh, I honestly didn't know that. I thought they were all out to make at least some sort of money. Learn something new every day! Thanks!

  • Wrong! Those credits do transfer to a traditional college. I went to University of Phoenix for a bit and I think ALL of the credits transferred to the traditional university that I ended up finishing my degree at. You just have to ask before going to the college and taking the classes.

  • Mind you I am not saying that I agree with for profit colleges, its just sometimes you have to learn the lesson the hard way. :P

  • I would not see it since I don't watch TV, and even if I did it would not be Jerry Springer. lol
