  • We just drove 13 hours with two teenagers (13 & 14). We had them take their iPods, and loaded them with movies as well as music. We also included them in decisions about where to eat, what to do - it made them feel important :)

  • My 14 year old son had his phone and made sure to have facebook accessible to his phone. He also took video and recorded some of the site seeing by car. Also he brought his summer reading assignments with him.

  • I would say let them each bring a bag filled with stuff they enjoy. Then pull out a map before leaving and let them help chart the route you'll take along with any side stops they'd like to make.

  • How long is the trip? Really, but the time they are teens they should be able to know what they want to bring on a road trip..
Growing up every summer my family drove from Tx to Indiana. 18hrs.... I slept. watched where we where going. and did alot of NOTHING! LOL.. I think it was good for me.. Finally i got old enough & smart enough that when I knew a trip was coming I made sure to have a book or 2 to bring with me!
    :)
    Have fun on your trip!
