How do I clean mold/mildew off a highchair?

Our highchair was sitting in the shed and got moisture and has mold/mildew on it (its a really nice pooh one and I would like to clean it) its kind of vinyle like and CAN be put in the washer. What should I wash it with?- Dont think it is bleach safe though.

  • I would take it outside and spray it with a bleach cleaner. Then hose it off. You can try Mr. Clean first if you don't want bleach.

  • Why don't you think bleach is safe? Thats what I would wash it with, that and some detergent.

  • I've been told Borax made into a paste works.. I dont do bleach on mildew cause I've found that over time where the mildew was that you bleached off turns to holes

  • You can use Borax or Baking Soda to help with the mold...
Let the item sit in the water before allowing machine to complete cycle...
Also use a a Tbs of bleach to the water with either of these...

  • The best way to do this is to take anything fabric off of it and take it outside, pour bleach on it, scrub it and then hose it off with the hose.
To clean mold/mildew off of the fabric you can use some Baking Soda in your regular cycle but you want to let it set in the water/baking soda before shutting the lid and starting the wash. Let it sit for about twenty minutes first.
