If your on family planning medicaid is it true you can only switch birth control methods once a year? Ive been on merina for almost 8 months now. So would I have to wait until next year before I can switch to another birth control?

  • I've never heard of that. Best thing for you to do is call your 1-800 and ask them.

  • Your best bet for a correct answer is to call them and ask them to explain what your options are!!

  • I would make some phone calls. I don't think they can restrict 1 type of birth control per year. I do think they restrict 1 type per month so that meds aren't over lapped. I guess my thought is not everyone knows what birth control meds they can or can not use.
