How do Charter Schools work?

My son is 4.5, 5 in Oct. We are thinking of a kindergarten readiness program but also are wondering about putting him in a charter school.

  • around here, you apply and they do a random lottery to see who gets in. usually you have to apply really early.

  • if you want your child to go to a chacter school , you need speak with a counselor from a regular school then they can give you a referral to the chacter school.

  • by the way, it depends on the age of the child. I only know how it works for high school kids, not sure about younger kids.

  • chart schools didn`t have what my spial needs twin needed adn them with adhd and a rare disorder didnt work cor us we shooeed around and found a public school that we needed but we have to take them and pick them up but if neede the cos said he pick up for us and we live13 misles round trip from school and that is only one trip to and from in the moring and we do in the afternoon also but it has helped are angels alot they are due tostart frist grade next month an everyone said tehy would take k twice wrong super teachers and parents working together
