pancakes from scratch: no milk, no juice...now what?

very low on milk and I have no juice....can I use water for pancakes? I'd imagine they probably won't taste very good though

  • go to allrecipes.com type in beer pancakes. YOu can use beer or a soda of some kind.

  • Got any sour cream? You can mix that with water and use that. I have done the same with plain yogurt to.

  • damn ran out of both sour cream AND plain yogurt yesterday lol and nope we have no beer. Plus it's 9 am ;) hahahaa
    so I can't just use water?

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah got none! Like the nursery rhyme, My cupboards are empty lol. Looks like I'll make some hard boiled eggs. thanks for the tips ladies! I'll remember these tips for next time!!!!

  • Water wouldn't do it unless you have dry (powdered) milk to mix with it. (I keep a box on hand just for things like this)
    When I'm low or out of milk I use applesauce for ours... or mashed, canned yams or pumpkin... you don't need as much milk.
