Do your research on what sells in your area. Food establishments have one of the highest failure rates of any business, but they aren't impossible if you do your homework first. This is a difficult time to start, with the economy being what it is, not just because people have less to spend, but also because the price of things like flour and eggs and coffee and tea have gone up. If you have the money to invest, I'd say to make sure you can offer competitive pricing, and quality food and beverages...that is what will bring people back. A good atmosphere will go a long way also, as will staff that are reliable and friendly. Making people feel good when they're in your place is what keeps them there, and keeps them loyal. Good luck!
