Do you use a heat styling protector spray (or creme, gel, etc) when you use a flat iron?

  • or not using it with other good products..

    example.. there really isn't any point if using it if you are going to use products like sauve.. or pantene.. they have nothing nourishing in their products for your hair, and only coat it with garbage. That is where your damage is going to come from...

  • I used to use silk elements heat protectant but I was told by a beautician that it actually makes it worse.

  • oh gosh yes.. otherwise my hair would be a fried hot mess..

    I use joico thermo protectant..

    I'm a stylist, it doesnt make it worse, it coats the hair to protect it from thermal damage..
    the only thing that's going to make it worse is not properly setting your thermal straightening iron or curling iron to meet your hair's needs..

  • xxhazeldovexx i think that she was talking abou that particular brand not heat protectants in general but I no longer straigthen my hair as often. Only about twice a year
