  • What do they like? My son likes backyardigans, animals and trains. I'm probably going with backyardigans. I would just find something that interests them and make it their theme. However, a one year old isn't going to remember this party so it really doesn't matter too much.

  • I don't think first birthday parties need "themes". The kid isn't going to remember, it doesn't make a difference to them! I'd say spend your money on a really yummy cake, or really awesome gifts.

  • My daughter LOVES her Elmos toys, so I'm going with that "theme", but keeping it simple. An Elmo cake and some Elmo baloons.

  • Backyardigans . . Sesame street . . Dora or Diego . . It depends on what your kid likes . . I personally wouldn't go "all out" for a 1st bday party . . Some cupcakes, a few balloons, and gifts should be sufficient . . But that's just me!
