Any caregivers/CNA's that work noc shift in ppls home and sleep while there?

Just curious how normal it is for this. I am working at nights as a CNA and the person wants me to sleep but I believe it's against my agencies policy I was hired threw (even thou seems a lot of ppl do it)

  • Ask what the policy is. If the client is very insistant just tell them that you want to make sure they are sleeping sound and don't need anything .

  • I word 3rd as a CNA and I would say no however i work in a facility and have 20-40 pts so sleeping isnt an issue usually. I do know lots on in home CNAs that sleep when they work nights. I would clarify with my employer.

  • My sister slept while working over nights swore the patient told her it was ok but she was still terminated. Apparently it was a test to make sure he was getting round the clock care. She failed. Good luck.

  • My mom has a 24 hour caregiver, she definitely sleeps at night.
