Men changing their last name to their wife's last name after marriage...

  • A lot of more traditional people consider it to be a slap in the face. We're hyphenated (kept my last name in honor of my father who has passed). and DH's family threw a HUGE fit over it. But if your guy is mature enough to get married, clearly he is old enough to make his own decision. I see nothing wrong with it :)

  • Whatever works for them. =) I have a BIL that took his wife's name because his was ridiculous and he had always hated it. lol Personally I don't see a big deal with names, I never changed mine when we married.

  • I know my husband wouldnt have done it ...he wanted me to have his last name I dont see anything wrong with it its different for sure

  • My husband wanted to do it, my last name was Doom...
    But I said no.. we will stick to tradition. lol.

  • The only real reason to take your husbands last name is tradition, IMO. I think it's nice if the man wants to take on his wifes name, why not?
