What does it mean when excess amniotic fluid shows up in a 36 week ultrasound?

  • That depends on a lot of things, we need more info. Does the doc think your baby is okay and looks healthy?

  • It really depends, with my last child I had to much fluid so I went to weekly ultrasounds and non stress test. It was so they could make sure that the pressure from the extra fluid wasnt putting the baby in distress. My baby was also large for gestational age so there are alot of facters. I do know however that if there are any issues you only have two weeks until your baby is considered full term which is when I had mine. Talk to your doc.

  • i had it and its uncomfortable and can cause the baby to be early like mine but it was fine
