Do you live near family?

We are very fortunate to live next to family, I always wondered how hard it would be to never have lived near them. How does this effect you?

  • We lived 1000 miles away when my hubby was doing active duty military training. For right now we are a half hour away from my family and 2 hours away from his. It is great.

  • No, my family is in Norway. It's very difficult at times. I miss them and look forward to my sisters visit scheduled for 2012.

  • Sadly, they are TOO near (geographically). About 9 minutes away. I would like about 45 minutes or so. Close enough if you need them, but enough distance that you're not required to go there all the time.

  • None live in my area. Some are in Florida and some are in Kentucky.

  • Mine were 2000 miles away since a week after I got married, but now they're about 5 hours away. My in-laws are now the ones 2000 miles away, lol. I like having a little distance. I can still go visit regularly, but they're not going to be dropping by every day.

  • My parents live eight minutes down the road, my sis lives one town over and my brother is about 15 minutes away. My in-laws are 45 minutes away. My husband's siblings have a 1500 mile rule, where they won't live within 1500 miles of their parents. Yeah, thanks guys...

  • I don't live near family and it's kind of hard because we have to travel all the way there to see them during holidays or something.
