  • Those two list do not include: Family birthdays, anniversaries, family events.. ect.

Those are purely religious/cultural holidays and celebrations. Now, we usually do not manage to make every single one of those every single year. But we do our absolute best to try and do so.

  • I handle it by saying NO....I no longer put my relatives first or their wants. The holidays are about my spending time with my children. I used to host every holiday and now I host none. I stay home at Christmas, my parents come over on the Eve and we have coffee together. I did the stress thing for 17 years and I won't anymore. It was hard with three kids and no one to help me. My husband would just park his ass on the couch and watch me run around like a crazed person. Never offered to help. My sister would wait and then 5 minutes before she was supposed to be over with her SO and three kids, she would cancel. My sister inlaw always showed up late and never brought anything or helped clean up. One day I thought, why am I doing this? So they all called last year wanting to know when to be over and I told them, I wasn't hosting the holidays. They were speechless and yet didn't offer to have it....

  • cont. I am tired of buying all the food cleaning up after everyone and being tired at the end of a holiday so I am going to try and change ot up.
Nothing for the New Year I just do something for us here. and besides our dd's b/day is Jan 9th so we are usually broke anyway. I am alsogoing to cut down on buying gifts this yr I am going to try to do family gifts instead of buying everyone something. I'll see how that works out. I want it to be more about just being together then what can you buy me. I'm going to do like Movie baskets and put pj's and things like that in there.
I have been so stressed about Holidays's for yrs I asked this somewhere here last yr and they told mejust cut back on what you'er serving make it simple and the same with the gifts.
    Hope this helps you
