  • We love our pet, but she isn't family. She is a dog. It will hurt when she goes but not like if it were one of my brothers, my parents, my husband or my child. There is a difference.

  • I feel they are members of the family as well. I asked because a friend said I was stupid for thinking that.. wanted to get other's opinions on it. :)

  • My cats and puppy are my babies......I call them my furry kids! They live with us, we take care of them, feed them, play with them, clean them, groom them.......isn't that the same things you do for your kids? They miss us when we're gone, they love us no matter what we do, they don't talk back to us, when you're upset they know and they try to comfort you, they depend on you for everything.

  • Yes they are family, part of the pack. They depend on us, and we bond with them.

  • I love my dogs and my horse, and I cried when my horse died, but they are not part of the family as my kids are part of the family. I'm going to take care of them, make sure they are fed, well, and loved, but they are still just pets.
