If you decide to not vaccinate your children, how do you put your kids thru daycare and school?

I'm looking at daycares and they are saying that she has to be completely up to date with vaccines in order to get her in.

  • Each state has exemptions of some type, but not all states have the same exemptions. Check here: for the requirements for your state.

As for daycares, if they are privately owned & operated, accepting no public funds, then they can deny your child entrance based on their rules. Daycares that are owned & operated by the state or county are considered public programs and therefore must abide by state laws regarding exemptions.

  • There's a waiver you can get. You just state it goes against your beliefs. They can't force you to vaccinate your kids. Good luck!

  • i am wondering this too. My 4 year old hasn't gotten vaccinations since she was about 16 or 18 months, maybe even 12 months. She has NEVER been sick, had a cold, etc. my other two on the other hand have a handful of colds, bugs, etc a year.

  • There is an immunization records form that they give you, it has a waiver spot on it. Just pick an option and turn it in.

  • You just have to get a waiver from your doctors office. They can't make you vaccinate your kids.

  • You just need to sign the back of the health card that they should keep in your child's file. It's a waiver saying you do not vaccinate for either religious or personal beliefs. That's all they need to have. Some schools may try to persuade you to get the immunizations because the health department kinda pushes that on them, but they cannot make you do it. Good luck!
