Can you freeze (and thaw) yogurt cups?

I have a ton of yogurt I got from someone but it has a very short date on it. WE are 2 days past the sell by date so I need to eat it or freeze it soon. There is just no way we will eat all this yogurt before it goes bad! Can I freeze it?

  • Yes, but the consistency when you freeze regular yogurt isn't the same after it thaws. I prefer to eat it when it's still frozen.

  • I would think so, my daughter freezes her yogurts all the time-and eats them that way too

  • K it's in the freezer, 16 cups of vanilla, 12 cups of blueberry. And then 6 of each in the fridge! WE should have some good frozen yogurt these next couple of weeks huh?

  • yogurt will expire in the freezer just the same as it does in the fridge, either way it is only good 7 days past the expiration date.
but yes you can freeze it, my son loves frozen yogurt's but you will still have to eat within 7 days after expiration
