  • My son is not quite six and uses our lap top just fine. He is happier with an actual mouse but he can use the pad... supervised only.

  • My 22 mo grandson knows how to do some things on the laptop. He can turn it on and get internet on by himself. Once I get our youtube account up he can pick and play songs. I didn't teach him. I leave my laptop on my bed and he sneaks in "messes" with it. When I let him try I found that he knew what to do.

  • My 7 year old uses a netbook. but she has been using it since she was 6. and they also have been using a desktop since she was 4. i would say that you know you child better then anyone. use your best judgement. my 14 year old can destroy a laptop quicker then my 7 year old.

  • My kids all use my laptop, but of course they are older. They have been using the desktop since about age 3, and my laptop since I got it several years ago. My youngest almost knows more about computers than I do and she just turned 8.

  • my dd around age 3 knew how to play on our laptop properly.. now at age 3.5 she can turn it on, and get to her own games by herself.. She knows how to use the windows button to get to paint, solitaire (she "plays" chess too lol) or "Purple Palace" ... Most of this she has learned on her own/ from just watching us..
