  • I'd say give him more fluids, but it may also be more serious than just constipation! Poor guy! Take him to see the doctor, especially if he's in pain! Good luck!

  • The blood, as long as it is bright red, is no big deal, as it is probably from a small tear from him straining. Howeer, he should not be straining to go and he should be going more often if he's getting that backed up. Take him to the doctor to have him evaluated to make sure there is nothing more serious going on, then if there isn't, the doc will probably recommend a stool softener for temporary relief and some diet/exercise changes for long term relief. More fluids, more exercise, less sugar, more veggies, more whole grains, etc. to keep the body regular.

  • Talk to his doctor!! Sounds like he is constipated.

  • Yeah, sounds like constipation. And it being bright red is better than it being dark or black. It is probably from a fissure (a small cut) from going. Try more fluids and apple juice can help too.

  • Try more fiber, water.. sometimes the dr prescribes a stool softener.
