How much do you spend on back to school shopping?

I voluteered at the back to school fair last week (where free school supplies are handed out). One of the organizers made the comment that it was about $30 per child for the supplies they gave out and that was supposed to cover everything on the lists. Do you spend more than that for your kids' back to school lists? I know we spent way more than that when our kids went to public school.

  • We probably spend about 30 dollars to start out with, BUT we are constantly replacing things all year long.

  • I don't think I spent $30/child for everything on the list.

  • I think $30.00 would more than cover it. Of course some districts lists are ridiculously long.

  • If I bought everything on the list it would be way more than $30, but I see the list more as a suggestion. I don't have an exact number, maybe $40 for both kids. That does not include clothes.
