Okay my boss writes out checks to me from her business, its not under the table cause she does deductions, federal, state, and fica. I went to a loacal loan store to borrow a couple hundred dollars for food and they refused to give me a loan cause
1- its a receipt for a copy of a check written to me, it has the totals of what I earned.
2-its not a check stub
3- I dont have a checking account which is fine with the loan company.
So I can't get a loan because of the way my boss writes out checks to all the employees.
So should I say something to my boss about this?

  • So, is she paying you out of a business account or just her regular checking account? I would still think you could request her to give you a copy of the withholding part separately.

  • I'm almost positive that she is writing out checks from a single account and she just has it as her business name.

  • It's not your boss that has an issue with the way she writes checks, it is the company you applied for the loan from. Many small businesses do their payroll like that. The loan company probably has a clerk that has very specific instructions on what is required - a "pay stub" - and what you have doesn't fit their criteria. You should try a different place, not all will have the same requirements.

  • The payday loan stores will do more damage to you than you can imagine. You are better off without it.
