Soup? Everyday?

My SO 's son has Asperger's and is a very picky eater. Last year we packed vegetable soup and fruit cup everyday anyone have suggestions on something we could try? He does not eat meat except for sirloin steak(go figure). Just need something easy to put in the lunch box besides soup or ramen.

  • my son has aspergers as well. He was on a "square" cereal (cinnimon toast crunch) kick and a PB&J kick forever !!!I figure as long as he was eating I wouldn't rock the boat. How well does he handle change?? can you start with changing the fruit cup to a different kind (apllesauce, mandrin oranges, peaches, pears etc) Do you think he will eat a sandwich, will he eat lettuce tomato cheese?? With my son I started buying different flavors of jelly/jam at home I would make him a peanut butter and sliced banana sand.

  • Hummus & Pita.

There's all kinds of different "salads" that don't have meat and can be cold... 3 bean, potato, etc. Will he eat left over & cold casserole?

You might find other good suggestions looking on recipe sites/books for vegetarians.

  • My son has autism and wants chicken chunks, brown rice, applesauce, and Teddy Grahams everyday for school lunch. He'll also eat hot somedays. I figure the time to try to get him to eat other stuff is at home when you can cook something else if he refuses to eat,not at school where there is no other choice.

  • He won't eat beans, or peanut butter. He loves tomatoes though. Maybe we could try the sandwich idea. Thanks ladies.
