  • I've seen them at Walmart too but they weren't in the diapers isle. They were more over by the toys.

  • Don't bother with walmart, they only have gerber prefolds and they are no good. Try diaperswappers.com for gently used ones at great prices, or nicki's diapers (google it) online. Green mountain diapers and cotton babies also have good deals.

  • you can get more for your money by purchasing them online via diaperswappers, like another person mentioned or by buying a diaper package from an online store. i use pocket diapers and more specifically i use fuzzibunz. i bought a package of smalls, mediums and larges from one of the online fuzzi bunz stores and it saved me a quite a bit.

  • There are mommas here at cafemom who make their own diapers, and would probably make some for you too. Or, try etsy.com

  • I live in a small town that doesn't carry anything but the gerber prefolds. I order all of my diapers online, Jilliansdrawers.com has the best prices I've seen so far. Also buying from other moms on cafemom is a must! Good luck.
You could also join one of the cloth diapering groups. The one I am in has a post dedicated to all of our favorite cloth diapering websites.

  • I use my daughters recycled flannel recieving blankets as flat folds, and used the gerber prefolds as doublers for naptime and as insterts for wool soakers or fleece covers.

With the exception of baby shower gifts (the prefolds), I ordered the the AIOs from the internet (WHAM shops rock), and I got some fleece covers and snappis (MUCH better than pins) from freecycle, and my grandma made the wool soakers...

Also, there are TONS of websites on how to DIY cloth diapers--personally, some of them are a bit beyond my sewing skills, but if you are using flat folds (which are far cheaper, and not nearly as scary as they look), they are a GREAT help, and offer some AWESOME ideas.
