Need breakfast and lunch ideas for school...

Last year, my son ate breakfast at school with his whole class. This year, he will be eating at home before he goes. I want to try some different things that are quick, easy, and/or healthy. He will also be taking his lunch every once in awhile but I have no idea what to pack him because he does not like sandwiches. Any suggestions?

  • You could do things like toast, Wheat Chex, Rice Crispies, frozen waffles, fresh fruit and juice for breakfast. For lunches, you could do fruit, veggies, a dessert, some crackers. My son will not eat sandwiches either, but he loves Italian flavored bread, or cheese bread, anything with flavor to it. ou could always send turkey and cheese rolled up or ham and cheese rolled up without the bread. Ask your son what he would like to eat at school too. He might give you some ideas you had never thought of. :)

  • Quick and easy breakfast: instant oatmeal, toaster waffles, toaster streudel, and of course cereal! I don't know how healthy any of that is, but that's what my kids usually eat. I have no idea about lunch. Mine eat lunch at school.

  • We do portable breakfasts on school days: smoothies, breakfast burritos, on the weekends I cook whole grain pancakes, that are used for breakfast sandwiches (peanut butter with banana or apple), etc.

I have a huge list of bagged lunch ideas (though most days, my daughter brings a thermos with leftovers). Send me a message if you would like a copy.

  • My son doesn't eat sandwiches either. I send tortilla chips and string cheese or peanut butter crackers or yogurt and graham crackers with 2 kinds of fruit and a bottle of water.
