Apple pie- Please help!

It's my first time making pie and I completely forgot to dollop butter on the top of the apples before I covered it with my crust. Will this make it not taste as well?

  • It should be fine. I've forgotten in the past too. Enjoy!

  • It will taste different.
    Butter makes everything taste better.
Serve it with WHIP CREAM (the real stuff), ICE CREAM, or MELTED CHEESE.
That way no one will notice.
Home Made APPLE PIE!! I hope your family knows that you are definitely a keeper.

  • I make at least a couple apple pies every fall and I have NEVER put butter on top...

  • Even if you didn't add butter inside, the sugar, and cinnamon and enough water will help to make the pie taste better. Depending upon the apples used, some tend to need more sweetening than others.

  • It won't be the end of the world without the butter - I hope you used tart apples for the pie - they make the best. And be sure to put some fork holes in the bottom crust too. For the top crust you can do lattice or just make sure there are cut vent holes.

  • Thanks everyone- It turned out wonderful actually without the butter =-). I didn't use tart apples as I don't like pie's with a sour touch! It was my first time making it completely from scratch and it was very great! Didn't even need cool whip.
