What exactly does drinking a glass of red wine a day do for heart health?

  • Red wine thins the blood and increases blood flow which helps clear out the arteries, etc. It also has antioxidants and flavanoids in it which help counteract the damage done by free radicals and help fight cancer.

  • it has antioxidants in it. you can get the same effect from drinking red grape juice.

  • Its something to do with the grapeskins. You can get the same effect from EATING the grapes(or blueberries). Antioxidants I believe.

  • The funny thing about alcohol is that it's a depressant. It can help with high anxiety as well.

  • My husbnd had 10 by passes, yes 10, and his heart Dr. said to drink a glass a day. Some days goes beyond and we have a few words, and then it gets back down. Didn't know you could have 10 by passes, shocked the heck out of me.
