What do you keep your AC at?

I keep mine at 72 but this is the first time I've had AC so I don't know if that's the proper temperature.

  • It's set on 73 right now, but it got to 104 today, so it's 80 in the house.

  • during the day I keep it around 75. I ALWAYS turn it off when I leave the house. this saves $$ big time. At night I turn it off too. We have ceiling fans that run in the bedrooms only at night. It saves me lots of $$

  • Turning it off when you leave for a couple hours actually does not really save that much money because when you return the AC has to work that much harder to cool things back down when you return. If you are gone for more then about 6-7 hours a day then it might save money if you keep the house all shut up and shades drawn too. We have ceiling fans that run on low sucking the hot air up and we set our AC at 80 all the time. It takes the humidity out and even when it is 80 and humid outside it still feels cooler inside. Work keeps it at 73 though and I wear long pants and a sweater and still freeze.

  • Between 76-78. That's how cool the house gets in the summer so I am not going to turn it lower or it will run all day.

  • I keep ours at 80. Seems kind of high but when its 110 out it doesn't seem that bad. Some times I actually get cold. lol.
