How do other couples find alone time when kids are always home?

We have kids of all ages in our home, and by the time the youngest is asleep, I'm ready to sleep too. I want more alone time w/ my husband! (How do the Duggers manage- they have 19 kids for crying out loud!)

  • lol, they have the older kids take care of the younger kids of course. it's probably easier to get alone time with that many 'babysitters' available at a moment's notice!

  • We went about once a month on small weekend trips, at most a couple hour drive away. We'd stay in a B&B and stroll around and talk and eat out.

  • We plan a date night for after the kids are in bed. We usually watch a movie

  • Princess is right LOL... Going out on dates is a good way to get alone time. Waking the kids up early so they go to bed early is a good way to have some alone time together as well.. I know what you mean tho, we don't have alone time until the sun goes down and for maybe an hour or two.. Our youngest is 8. Maybe in time :)

  • Our kids have a 7 pm bedtime except for nights when we get home late. We also occasionally let them go to Kids Quest while we go for dinner or a show or something.

  • The children's slavish devotion to Spongebob plus a heavy laundry basket shoved in front of the door usually does the trick.
