What will your DH/SO eat cold? that is not a sandwich.....

My husband works in the sun all day and eats from a cooler.
He hates sandwiches!! and most fruit..vegggies and dip are out of the question.
On monday I made him egg salad and crackers
Tuesday was potato salad and cooked leftover brats
Today was mac-n-cheese and more leftover brats
Thursday will be chicken tender's from Mcdonald's that I went and got just for his lunch because they aren't all that bad cold.
My biggest challange in life is to feed him what he would actually eat...
So what are your ideas?

  • My husband does asphalt construction, so I relate to you. :)

Chicken salad & a fork. & I pack him so croissants if he wants a sandwich.
    Any kind of salad
Grilled chicken. & then throw some stuff together for wraps. (like someone else suggested)

The cold part is hard. haha! My dh works with asphalt, & he's figured out how to 'cook' food wrapped up in tinfoil, in the asphalt. like a dutch oven kind of? So he can take pretty much anything to work & eat it hot or cold.
    Sorry I'm not much help.

  • Pasta salads, my DH isn't a big sandwich person but he loves wraps (meat, cheese, miracle whip, and a little lettuce), cereal, muffins (there are recipes for some with ham & cheese in, etc).

  • Not all sandwich meat needs to be put on bread i love to roll up ham and cheese together and eat it just like that. My hubby likes it also so maybe he will eat that. You can do it with sandwich pepperoni, ham, roast beef, turkey, salami. try it that may just help you some.

  • Pretty much anything except like, canned stuff (spaghettios and such). I don't think he likes to take the time to heat stuff up when he's hungry!
