i named my kid vinny (vincent) but then i find out about all this jersey shore stuff! :(

LOL. i kept hearing about jersey shore, it was all over the place! then i noticed there is a vinny on there :( well i watched a couple of episodes and he didn't act too horrible so that makes me feel better. well i guess at least this jersey shore thing will pass within a couple of years i'm sure. i just hope it doesn't leave behind any bad vibes stuck to the name vinny.
*sigh* i still like the name!

  • It's such a traditional name I wouldn't assume it had anything to do with the show. A lot of reality idiots have common names.

  • Don't worry. Not every one is into this show. It's ridiculous that people are making them famous for being..... I can't even find a word for what they are.
Vincent (Vinny) IS and will ALWAYS be a cool name. I call my nephew Vinnie or sometimes by his Italian name Vincenzo.

  • I agree. Don't worry about him having the same name as some stupid reality person. No one will know it in 5 years.

  • My Dad's name is Vincent. I've never heard anyone call him Vinny, until his last job, otherwise everyone just called him Vince. He even got his license plates personalized (Vinny). Doesn't seem like it's a real common name. I don't think I have ever met another Vincent.

  • I tried watching Jersey Shore one time and couldn't stand watching for any longer than 3 minutes. Actually, the name Vinny reminds me of actor Vince Vaughn. He was interviewed on Letterman once a few years back and said Vinny was his nickname when he was a kid.
