  • The baby I take care of is breastfed and goes about every 4-5 days. Normal for him. Call your Dr. and talk about your concern.

  • Normal! My kids would go up to 10 days without pooping. There is so little waste in breastmilk that there isn't much left. Be aware though that when he/she goes it will be a lot at once.

  • If you are sure your baby is getting enough milk there is no reason to be concerned. Breastmilk is so well digested some babies will go days without a bm.

  • When my son was that age my ped. said not to work unless it was a week or longer. Breastfeed babies process the milk better than formula feed babies so they have less bowel movements.

  • as long as u have plenty of pee diapers, no need to be concerned yet. sometimes my ds would go a week before the poop of all poops came!

  • 10 days or 2 days?

    It matters.

It is normal for breastfed babies to poop 10 times a day, or once every 10 days... or anything in between. If the baby is exclusively breastfed, well-hydrated, and otherwise clearly happy and healthy, there is nothing to worry about.

  • It is normal for breastfed babies to go a week (or more) between bowel movements.

  • i was told that as long as they are still eating, then they are not constipated. our ped had a patient that went every 14 days, that was her normal!

  • If ebf, it's normal and safe to go 2 to 3 weeks without a bowel movement as long as when baby does go, it's not dry, hard, pellet like, and baby is wetting 6-8 diapers in 24 hrs.
