what are your favorite spices to use when cooking?

I use a lot of pepper, sea salt, paprika, and garlic powder. And cinnamon and nutmeg!

  • I like the spice blends from Penzey's Spices. They have a lot of salt-free spice blends that are awesome, such as the Bavarian Seasoning (good for pork and meat loaf), Tuscan Sunset (good in all Italian dishes) and Sunny Spain, which is a good all-purpose lemon-pepper blend. They have with-salt spice blends too, like Sandwich Sprinkle (fantastic on scrambled eggs) and Pizza Seasoning. All their stuff is really fresh; you can get it online.

  • It actually depends on what I am cooking. But I use sea salt and pepper. I tend to use onion salt more than anything else.
